Sautéed spinach is incredibly easy to make, and it doesn’t take much effort or time. Just sauté in some Olive oil, add a few seasonings, and allow the greens to wilt down to the desired texture you like. Everyone’s preference is different- rather you want your spinach greens to have a little crunch or be super soft. It’s up to you. But keep in mind that spinach does cook super-fast. For this recipe I cooked the spinach over medium heat, and it took less than 2 minutes for them to wilt down.
I like to season my spinach with a little Cajun seasoning, seasoned black pepper, McCormick salt free onion & Herb, and McCormick salt free garlic & herb. If you want to keep it simple just sprinkle a little salt and pepper for taste. If you want to add a pinch of heat (spice), just add a small pinch of crushed red pepper. Sometimes I like to finish my green spinach off by squeezing a little bit of fresh lemon juice once it’s done.
Cooking spinach is super easy! Add as little or as much garlic as you like. You can cook these greens over medium heat, and don’t hesitate to turn down the heat if it’s wilting too fast for you or to avoid burning the garlic. When you sauté the garlic, it should only take a few seconds to a minute. Sauté the garlic until it becomes fragrant, after that add the spinach. Season the spinach to your liking and toss it into the olive oil and fresh garlic. If you want your greens to steam a little you can cover the pot with a lid. Keep an eye on the greens because they will wilt down fast. Serve the garlic spinach with some of your favorite dishes. Some protein options are pan seared steak, chicken, and fish such as cod or tilapia. Also, I recommend using fresh spinach for this recipe over frozen. It will taste so much better using fresh ingredients.
This is a quick and easy recipe that you can pair with your weeknight meals. It’s a simple recipe that will help you get your daily veggie intake. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
