Spanish Steak Recipe

Marinated steak that’s seasoned with a few spices, green seasoning and more to make this stewed steak recipe the perfect dinner. I love to pair it with rice or a salad. Sometimes, I chop up a little tomato and red onion, drizzled with Greek dressing as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ibs Steak Thin round sirloin, cubed, or flank
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Adobo
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Paprika or Chili powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic paste
  • Splash of vinegar
  • 1 to 2 tsps Green seasoning or Sofrito
  • ½ tsp Tomato paste
  • ½ Onion Sliced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper Sliced
  • 2 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Cup Water

Method

  1. Clean & prep the veggies. Slice the onion & green bell pepper. Mince the garlic, set veggies aside.
  2. Clean & prep the steak. Season with the dry seasonings/spices, add the green seasoning, vinegar and garlic paste.
  3. Mix everything together. Marinate the meat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. In a skillet or pot, add some oil and allow it to get hot. Add the steak and brown each side for 2 to 3 minutes each side.
  5. Note: The bowl you marinated the meat in- add 1 cup of water to it and set aside. The leftover is flavor- so keep it.
  6. Toss in the sliced onion, bell pepper, fresh garlic, green seasoning and tomato paste. Allow the paste to dissolve.
  7. Add the water and allow the liquid to come to a boil. Cover and simmer for 25 to 35 minutes or until the meat is tender and fully cooked.
  8. In the last 3 to 5 minutes of cooking time, toss in sliced onion and bell pepper. Cover with a lid and steam for 3 to 5 minutes.
  9. Note: make sure meat is fully cooked and tender.
  10. Serve with rice and vegetables. Enjoy.
