Clean the potatoes beforehand
Peel the potatoes and cut into smaller pieces
In a pot add some water and place the pot on the stove at high heat.
Allow the water to come to a bowl, add some salt, and the potatoes.
Cook the potatoes until they become tender. You can pierce the potatoes with a fork to check for softness.
Once the potatoes are soft, drain the potatoes in a colander.
On medium high heat in a clean pot, add some butter and allow it to melt.
Add the cooked potatoes to the pot and use a masher to mash the potatoes.
Once the potatoes are mashed, turn the heat off.
Add some half & half or milk and season the mash potatoes to your liking.
Stir everything together.
