Course Appetizer, dinner, lunch
- 1 to 1 ½ Ib Chicken Wings
- Mango Habanero Sauce Buffalo wild wings sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt or Poultry/Chicken seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
- Yellow Mustard Add enough to coat chicken
- Hot Sauce A few squirts
- 1 ½ to 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch for extra crispy wings
- Oil for frying Peanut, Canola, or Vegetable Oil
Clean/Prep the chicken wings beforehand, cut into Wingettes & Drummettes. Pat dry with a paper towel & add the wings to a large bowl.
Season the meat with the dry seasonings, yellow mustard, and hot sauce. Mix everything together and make sure the chicken is nicely coated.
Tip: For extra crispy wings add a little bit of cornstarch to the flour.
Next, toss the seasoned chicken wings in the flour and let the breaded chicken rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
In a frying pan or skillet, heat up some oil until it at least reaches 350°F. Once the oil is hot and ready- add the wings in batches to fry.
The cooking time will vary, but it should take about 10 to 15 minutes total. Make sure you flip the chicken over halfway through cooking time. Use a thermometer to check for doneness. Perfectly cooked chicken will reach 165°F.
When the chicken is fully cooked, place the chicken on a wire rack or a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Place all the cooked chicken in a bowl & toss with the sauce.
Serve with fries & celery/carrots. Enjoy!
