Prep the shrimp beforehand: Peel & devein the shrimp. Clean the shrimp by soaking in a little vinegar & water, then rinse off under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Add the cleaned shrimp to a medium bowl. Season with the pepper, old bay, garlic powder, yellow mustard, and hot sauce. Mix everything together & set aside.
Prepare the flour: Mix the flour, cornstarch, pepper, old bay, garlic powder, & onion powder together.
Note: Seasoning the flour is completely optional, you can just mix the flour and cornstarch together without seasoning it.
Toss the shrimp into the flour and coat evenly. Allow the shrimp to rest for 5 to 10 minutes while the oil heats up.
In a frying pan, add the oil and allow the oil to get hot or to 350°F.
Add the breaded shrimp & fry for 3 to 5 minutes. Do not overcrowd the pan, so fry in batches if needed.
Once the shrimp is thoroughly cooked. Drain the fried shrimp on paper towel or a wire rack pan.
Prepare the hot honey sauce: Over medium heat- add some butter in a pan or skillet. Once the butter melts add the honey & buffalo sauce (The lemon pepper seasoning is optional). Mix everything together and allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes. Do a taste test & adjust if needed.
Toss the shrimp into the sauce. Pair with French fries & enjoy!
