I have the ideal recipe on how to cook the perfect fried chicken. Flavorful fried chicken that has a nice crust. It's crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ibs Wings (cut in 1/2 at the joint)
  • 1 to 1 ½ cup Flour
  • Oil (Vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
  • ⅓ to ½ cup French’s Yellow Mustard (add enough mustard to coat the chicken well)
  • 1 Tbs Chef Paul’s Poultry Seasoning
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Season Salt

Instructions

  • Clean, prep, and pat dry the chicken wings with a paper towel.
  • Place the chicken wings in a large bowl.
  • Add the dry seasoning ingredients and squeeze enough of the French’s yellow mustard to coat the chicken nicely.
  • Rub & mix the ingredients onto the chicken, then set to the side.
  • Optional: prepare the flour by adding a few sprinkles of the dry spices to season the flour.
  • Next, take each wing and coat each piece of chicken into the flour. Shake off the excess.
  • In a frying pan or large pot, add the oil and turn the stove to medium high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot and ready for frying, cook the chicken in batches at a time.
  • Don’t overcrowd the frying pan or pot.
  • Allow the chicken to cook for 12 to 14 minutes at a time.
  • *Note: During the cooking time, turn the chicken at least once to ensure the chicken is cooked thoroughly.
  • *Note: Chicken is safe to consume at 350 degrees. Use a thermometer to ensure doneness.
  • Once the chicken is done, remove the chicken from the oil and shake off the excess oil.
  • Allow the chicken to drain on paper towel.
  • Repeat the frying process until all the chicken is fried & cooked properly. Enjoy!
