First, Add most of the ingredients to a large bowl. Crack a few eggs, add the milk or half and half, vanilla, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and sea salt. The splash of spiced rum is completely optional.
Whisk or stir everything together until well blended, then set aside.
In a skillet over medium high heat, add some butter and allow it to melt. Once the butter is sizzling, dip the croissant bread in the milk mixture and shake off excess.
Add the bread to the skillet and allow it to cook through. Flip halfway through cooking time. You may need to cook in batches.
Once it’s done, The French toast will have a deep golden-brown color and should be fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and keep warm. Continue to cook the remaining bread in batches until all the toast is done.
Plate the toast. Top with berries, whipped cream, and maple syrup.
