Lemon Pepper Wings Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ to 2 lbs Wings (cut into wingettes & drumettes)
- 1 ½ Cup Flour
- Oil (Add enough for frying: canola, peanut, or vegetable)
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tsp Hot Sauce
- 1 tsp Chicken Seasoning (Substitute: Cajun Seasoning or Salt)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Black pepper
Lemon Pepper Sauce:
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 1/2 to 1 Lemon (freshly squeezed lemon juice)
- 1 tsp Lemon pepper seasoning
- Pinch Of Garlic & Herb (About 1/8 tsp)
Instructions
- Clean & prep the wings, cut into wingettes & drumettes. Pat dry with paper towel. Place prepped wings in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowel crack the eggs & add the hot sauce. Whisk until blended, then set aside.
- Season the wings with the Chicken Seasoning, Garlic powder, Onion powder, & Black pepper. Then, add the egg/hot sauce mixture to the wings, & mix everything together.
- Coat the wings in the flour and allow them to rest for 10 to 15 minutes on a wire rack.
- In a frying pan or deep fryer, add the oil & allow it to get hot enough for frying (About 325 to 375 degrees).
- Add the chicken wings to the oil & fry in batches. Don’t overcrowd the pan. It should take about 10 to 15 minutes to fry, or until golden brown. (Note: use a thermometer to check for doneness if you’re unsure).
- Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove from oil and drain on a cooling rack with paper towels underneath to catch excess oil.
- In the meantime, make the lemon pepper sauce. In a pot melt the butter & squeeze fresh lemon juice. Add the lemon pepper seasoning & a pinch of garlic & herb seasoning, Mix well.
- Toss the wings into the sauce until coated.
- Serve immediately, Enjoy.
