This dish is the perfect recipe for when you’re craving a creamy pasta that has island roots.  Rasta pasta also known as jerk pasta, is popular in many Jamaican communities across America. This delicious recipe is very simple and it’s a basic recipe on how-to make jerk pasta.

This recipe has the right level of spice and is made possible with the mild wet jerk seasoning. The sauce has the perfect blend of bell peppers and fresh minced garlic. The Parmesan cheese combined with the mozzarella cheese brings out the bold delicious flavors of this creamy pasta dish.

On a hectic weeknight, this is the perfect pasta recipe to try. You can literally make this recipe with a few ingredients and within a few minutes. You can pair this popular dish with your meat of choice. Feel free to serve your pasta with pan seared steak, garlic butter shrimp, or well-seasoned chicken sautéed in a little bit of olive oil.

 

Tips:

  • If you want a spicy sauce, you can substitute the Walkerswood MILD Jamaican Jerk Seasoning for the Walkerswood HOT Jamaican Jerk Seasoning.
  • Serve the pasta with your meat of choice: pan seared steak, shrimp, or chicken.

Delicious Jerk (Rasta) Pasta Recipe!

The sauce has the perfect blend of bell peppers and fresh minced garlic. The Parmesan cheese combined with the mozzarella cheese brings out the bold delicious flavors of this creamy pasta dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Ib Penne Pasta
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp Fresh Garlic minced
  • 1/2 Red bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 Green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbs Butter
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp Walkerswood Jamaican Jerk Seasoning Mild
  • 1 tsp Chef Gone Mad Seasoning Substitute: All-Purpose seasoning of your choice
  • Parsley For garnishment

Instructions
 

  • First, allow a pot of water to come to a boil on high heat.
  • Then, add a little bit of salt to the water & the penne pasta. Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  • Once the pasta is done, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
  • On medium-high heat, add 2 Tbs of butter to a pan and allow it to melt.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers and sauté the peppers for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add some minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 to 2 minutes).
  • Next, whisk in the whipping cream and stir consistently.
  • Add the dry spices and the Jerk seasoning to the sauce.
  • Add the mozzarella & Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
  • Turn the heat to low heat.
  • Whisk or stir the sauce consistently until the cheese melts.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer for a minute or two.
  • Don’t overcook the sauce, you don’t want it to thicken too much.
  • Once the cheese has melted, do a taste test. (If you need to add additional seasonings, do so currently)
  • Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss into the jerk sauce.
  • Turn the stove off and remove the pasta from the heat.
  • Serve immediately, Enjoy!
  • *You can serve your pasta with pan seared steak, shrimp, or chicken.
