The Best Hibachi Dinner Ever!
Rich perfectly seasoned chicken, steak, & shrimp paired with delicious garlic butter fried rice. This hibachi dinner tastes like it was just made at your favorite Japanese restaurant.
I absolutely love hibachi style food and one of my favorite restaurants to frequent is Benihana’s. ROCKY’S CHOICE (Hibachi steak and chicken breast) is usually my entree dinner that I order & sometimes I like to throw in a few pieces of the colossal shrimp grilled with lemon. I absolutely love that meal! But I can’t forget their signature rice- the hibachi fried rice. “The original Benihana classic”. I swear Benihana has the perfect fried rice & it’s even better when you order the chicken fried rice.
Unfortunately, since I moved away from Miami- I don’t have a Benihana or Japanese style restaurant near by that I like. Sometimes it’s hit or miss, & no one wants to waste money on a pricey dinner. So, I had to take matters in my own hands and recreate some of my favorite hibachi foods!
There’s nothing better than saving your coins and making a delicious home cooked meal for the family right in the comfort of your own home. And what’s even better is that this recipe is the perfect dinner date recipe to give a try. This is a great restaurant quality dinner, and you won’t have to break the bank. I’m pretty sure most of the ingredients should be in your pantry, with only a few things to pick up from the store. Feel free to be versatile and switch out the main protein options. You don’t have to cook all three. I want you to make good homemade meals, but not hurt your pockets.
Now, don’t get intimidated if you’re new to cooking. All it takes is patience and some effort on your part. With the right guidance and allowing yourself to be comfortable- you will be throwing down in the kitchen in no time!
Few Tips for Your Hibachi Dinner:
- I do like to use oyster sauce for my fried rice. But, if you’re allergic to shellfish please leave that ingredient out! You will still get perfect fried rice, & if you’re worried about taste- just add a pinch of fried rice seasoning. Another option would be to just season with white pepper & a pinch of sugar.
- Fried rice is best when you use rice that is a day or two old. So, try to cook the rice beforehand. Let it cool off & just store in the fridge until ready for the next day.
- Now you can use store bought garlic butter. But I like to make mines from scratch and it’s best to make garlic butter the day before. The recipe is listed below.
- You can use homemade teriyaki sauce or store-bought teriyaki sauce for the steak portion. And if you want teriyaki chicken instead of the recipe listed for the chicken portion – just follow the same steps of the Teriyaki steak for teriyaki chicken.
- Take your time & make your food from a place of love. Have fun in the kitchen!
Garlic Butter Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter (softened at room temp)
1 Tbsp minced garlic or garlic paste
2 Tbsp chopped Green Onions
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Garlic Butter Recipe:
First, allow the butter to soften and come to room temperature.
Then, purée the fresh minced garlic using garlic press or with a knife. (Alternative: you can use garlic paste instead)
Once the butter has softened, add the butter, green onion and garlic to a small bowl.
Slowly add the soy sauce to the garlic butter mixture until it’s totally incorporated, and no liquid remains at the bottom of the bowl.
Note: You can store the butter in a covered container in the refrigerator for a few days to 1 week.
If you’re a fan of hibachi style dinners – you will absolutely love this recipe. And I hope you love this recipe just as much as I do. This hibachi dinner is so delicious, and it comes in handy when you want a home cooked meal that’s top notch restaurant quality. Enjoy!
