Delicious Mustard Fried Chicken Recipe

Usually, when I cook fried chicken- I like to season the flour with the same spices. Add enough seasoning to the flour to give it a little color. If you want extra crispy fried chicken- just add a little sprinkle of cornstarch to the flour.

Delicious Mustard Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Ibs Wings (cut in 1/2 at the joint)
- 1 to 1 ½ cup Flour
- Oil (Vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
- ⅓ to ½ cup French’s Yellow Mustard (add enough mustard to coat the chicken well)
- 1 Tbs Chef Paul’s Poultry Seasoning
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- ¼ tsp Season Salt
Instructions
- Clean, prep, and pat dry the chicken wings with a paper towel.
- Place the chicken wings in a large bowl.
- Add the dry seasoning ingredients and squeeze enough of the French’s yellow mustard to coat the chicken nicely.
- Rub & mix the ingredients onto the chicken, then set to the side.
- Optional: prepare the flour by adding a few sprinkles of the dry spices to season the flour.
- Next, take each wing and coat each piece of chicken into the flour. Shake off the excess.
- In a frying pan or large pot, add the oil and turn the stove to medium high heat.
- Once the oil is hot and ready for frying, cook the chicken in batches at a time.
- Don’t overcrowd the frying pan or pot.
- Allow the chicken to cook for 12 to 14 minutes at a time.
- *Note: During the cooking time, turn the chicken at least once to ensure the chicken is cooked thoroughly.
- *Note: Chicken is safe to consume at 350 degrees. Use a thermometer to ensure doneness.
- Once the chicken is done, remove the chicken from the oil and shake off the excess oil.
- Allow the chicken to drain on paper towel.
- Repeat the frying process until all the chicken is fried & cooked properly. Enjoy!
