Yummy Bacon & Grits Breakfast Bowl!
A hearty breakfast bowl filled with cheesy grits, scrambled eggs, and crispy bacon. A perfect weekend meal for the whole family to enjoy! I love to make this yummy breakfast bowl on my days off. It’s so fulfilling and keeps my tummy full until lunch time. You can pair this delicious breakfast bowl with some buttery croissants and/or biscuits. Just Throw in a cup of orange juice, water, or coffee to help wash this delicious breakfast meal down. For this breakfast bowl I used bacon, but feel free to use turkey bacon, beef bacon or veggie bacon instead.
Nothing beats some creamy cheesy grits for breakfast. Grits are a staple in my household, and they are so filling. Grits do come in different varieties so feel free to use and cook your favorite. When it comes to cooking grits, you can choose how thick or thin you like them. For thicker grits use less water and for thinner grits use more water. I usually season my grits with a little black pepper, but if you want to add a pinch of salt you can. Don’t skip out on adding a splash of milk or half & half, it helps make the grits really creamy. Now when it comes to adding cheese to your grits- you can use cheddar, mozzarella, or American cheese. Those are my top three, but you can use your favorite cheese. Add as little or as much as you like.
For this recipe I kept it simple with the eggs. I love scrambled eggs, but you can cook the eggs to your preferred method. Some ways that you can cook your eggs besides being scrambled are sunny side up, over easy, or poached. When you add a splash of milk or half & half to your eggs, it helps to make them creamier and fluffy. For the eggs, you can lightly season them with salt or pepper for taste. As for the bacon, I just fried them in a skillet over medium to medium-high heat. But feel free to bake them in the oven or use an air-fryer to cook them. There are many bacon alternatives that you can use such as turkey bacon, beef bacon, or veggie bacon. You can also use turkey sausage if you prefer.
This is a great breakfast bowl that everyone in the family will enjoy! It’s super yummy and super fulfilling!
Don’t forget to pair this bacon and grits bowl with some butter croissants or biscuits.
