Crispy Southern fried shrimp that’s deep fried to a golden-brown Perfection!

This fried shrimp recipe is up to par and filled with amazing flavor. From the crunchy outside to the bold exciting flavors from the inside. It’s one of the best seafood recipes that is out right now!

My fried shrimp recipe is delicious and easy to make. Fried shrimp is a stable in my household when it comes to Fish Fry Friday’s along with fried catfish or tilapia. It’s the perfect appetizer when served with cocktail sauce, or you can make it a dinner meal and serve these delicious crunchy fried shrimps with a side of French fries.

I’m a shrimp lover and this recipe has been perfected to be top tier. Frying shrimp at home- has never been easier. So, you can ditch the restaurants and save your coins. Plus, you don’t need a deep fryer either.

This delicious golden brown fried shrimp is well seasoned using old bay seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, & a little pinch of Italian seasoning. Feel free to use half of the seasoning for the flour and the other half for the shrimp if you like, or you can season only the flour. For this recipe I did not use cornmeal or breadcrumbs, but you can make any adjustments that fit your taste buds. To make sure that the shrimp sticks to the flour nicely, they are dipped in an egg mixture consisting of eggs, hot sauce, and a little yellow mustard. Then the shrimp are well coated in the seasoned flour, before being fried in hot oil. You can use vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil.

For this recipe, it’s important that you allow the oil to get hot. If the oil reaches 325 to 350 degrees F, that’s good. To check the temperature, you may use a thermometer, or a neat trick is to add a pinch of flour to the oil. If it starts to gently sizzle and turn golden brown after about 2 minutes, your oil is the perfect temperature.  Plus, allowing the oil to reach a good temperature will ensure that the breading doesn’t fall off. Allow the shrimp to fry for 3 to 5 minutes and make sure you stir or flip the shrimp over halve way through cooking time.

This southern fried shrimp recipe is a family favorite and I’m happy to share this recipe. I hope you love it as much as I do.
