Mississippi Pot Roast Recipe
Mississippi pot roast is so tender and packed with delicious flavor. Chuck roast combined with ranch dressing mix, Au jus gravy mix, butter, and pepperoncini peppers. These 5 ingredients make up the classic Mississippi pot roast recipe that many are familiar with. The meat is so tender and comes out so delicious when done right. So don’t rush the process, allow the meat to cook long enough. When it’s done the meat will be easy to shred with a fork.
This pot roast recipe is the one to store in your archives and is a sure crowd pleaser. It’s an oldie but Goldie recipe with my little twist to it. Mississippi pot roast is a classic meal that can be made in the oven or in a slow cooker. It will only require a few ingredients and a few hours of your time. Allow the roast to bake in the oven until it’s extremely tender and cooked to a safe temperature. Again, if you don’t want to use the oven, you can always make it in the slow cooker as well.
For this recipe I used a chuck roast which is inexpensive, but feel free to use other cuts of meat if you’d like. I occasionally like to add more beef broth than usual for this recipe. Why? because I like to have extra gravy to add on my mashed potatoes. I love the extra gravy and it’s so good! This recipe is a winner and I hope you enjoy it!
