My honey garlic wings recipe is simple to follow and perfect! These are one of my favorite wing recipes- so flavorful and such a great treat. If you want a little spice to your wings add a pinch of sriracha sauce or cayenne pepper, this will give your wings the right amount of heat.
No need to worry about using a deep fryer or hot grease. These oven baked wings don’t require any breading, which makes it a little healthier. Plus, they come out crispy. You can bake or air-fry these crispy wings before tossing them in the delicious homemade honey garlic sauce.
Tips for the perfect oven baked wings:
1). It’s extremely important that you dry out the wings to draw moisture from the skin.
- Pat dry the wings with a paper towel prior to seasoning them & throwing them in the oven. Why? – Because you want the wings to be crispy. so, it’s important they’re dry prior to putting them in the oven.
- Another option would be to leave the wings in the fridge uncovered for 30 minutes to a few hours to dry out.
2). For extra crispy wings: (two options)
- First option: you can place the wings under the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Second option: add a coating of aluminum free baking powder such as Clabber Girl Double Acting Baking Powder, Walmart great value Double Acting Baking Powder, or any aluminum free baking powder. Don’t confuse baking powder with baking soda. You want to use baking powder. After you season the wings, just add a small coating of the baking powder before baking them.
3). Line the pan with foil for easy clean up. If the pan begins to smoke from the drippings, add a new sheet of foil to replace the old foil.
4). Cook wings in a baking pan or sheet that has a rack. This allows the air to circulate all around the wings for extra crisp.
