Just pair them with some crispy fried or oven baked French fries, celery sticks and throw in some ranch or blue cheese wing dipping sauce. These wings are a sure winner and packed with such delicious flavor. They’re a game day staple.
The sauce for these wings is perfect. The combination of butter, hot wing sauce, and honey creates such a perfect balance in sweetness and spice. I love to add a pinch of lemon pepper seasoning to my sauce, but this is completely optional. Depending on how many wings you’re preparing- you may need to adjust the measurements. If you’re cooking for quite a few people, you will probably need to double the ingredients. I’m a fan of Frank’s Red hot Buffalo Wing sauce, but feel free to use your favorite brand. If you want wings on a milder scale, use the mild version buffalo sauce. Feel free to make this recipe your own and adjust accordingly.
For frying chicken- you can use vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil. Some people like to use a deep fryer vs a regular frying pan but use what you have on hand. I like to fry my chicken in my cast iron Dutch oven. Allow the oil to get hot and get to a good temperature for frying (at least 325°F to 350°F). This is a must; you want the chicken to be at a good temperature for frying to get the perfect crispy fried chicken. The oil temperature can vary when the wings are cooking. Keep in mind- If the oil temperature rises too much, please reduce the heat. If the oil is too hot, the food will burn on the outside and not properly cook on the inside. If the oil temperature drops too low, you may increase the heat to avoid having soggy/greasy chicken. Keep an eye on the frying pan and make any adjustments as needed.
3 Tips to know if the oil is ready for frying:
1). Place the handle of a wooden spoon in the oil. The oil is ready when bubbles begin to appear around the tip of the handle.
2). The oil is ready when you sprinkle a little flour in the oil, and it begins to sizzle fast.
3). Use a food thermometer suitable for frying to check the temperature.

- Place wings in a large bowl and season with the dry seasonings (onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, cajun seasoning, & paprika). make sure the wings are nicely coated and seasoned.

- Cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked. Flip the chicken over halfway through cooking time if needed. The juices should run clear when done. Use a thermometer if needed to check for doneness.
- You can place the cooked chicken on a wire rack pan or drain on paper towel and set aside.
