The Italian breadcrumbs takes this recipe up a notch and adds such great flavor. I like to sprinkle a little bit of the Kinder’s lemon pepper seasoning to give it that extra zest! For this recipe it’s best to use raw shrimp & not the precooked shrimp in the package. Feel free to use whatever size shrimp you have on hand: small, medium, large or jumbo- it’s all the same. But make sure you peel & devein the shrimp or you can buy the packaged shrimp that’s already been peeled & deveined for you to save some time.
When it comes to frying shrimp, or any meat in general- it’s important to make sure that the oil is hot and at a decent temperature for frying. Allow the oil to heat up to about 350˚F, you can check by adding a pinch of flour to the oil and it should start to sizzle fast. When you add the shrimp to the oil, try not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the shrimp for 2 to 4 minutes so they can properly cook. Shrimp does cook quickly so keep an eye on them to ensure they’re not overcooked. The shrimps will have a nice golden brown outside and be opaque in the center. It’s best to fry the shrimp in batches & in between frying – allow the oil temperature to get back to 350˚F before adding the next batch. You can use either canola or vegetable oil.
My Italian breadcrumbs fried shrimp is kid friendly as well. The kids will love these tasty crispy fried shrimps. Just pair them with a few French fries & add in a fruit salad for dessert.
This is one of my favorite fried shrimp recipes & I hope you enjoy this delicious, tasty recipe.
